Cricket Worldcup 2011

The World Cup is scheduled to take place between February and early April 2011. The first match is played between India and Bangladesh on 19 February 2011, 08:30 AM GMT at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur, Dhaka. The opening ceremony will be held on 17 February 2011, two days before the start of the tournament. The final match is to be played on 02 April 2011, 09:00 AM GMT at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, India.

Excely has released a superb Schedule for 2011 Cricket World Cup, a free Excel Spreadsheet with the schedule of all tournament games.

There are runs, wickets, and overs fields for both teams in a match. In between the two teams, there is a column named ‘Innings’. This column consists of an arrow sign. The arrow sign indicates which team batted first.

You just need to enter runs, wickets and overs for each each team in a match and choose which team batted first through the ‘Innings’ arrow field in the middle. And then the winning team, points table and net run rate is calculated automatically.

It also supports different time zones.

Some error in calculating the NRR…. Example

    India vs Ban…first match…let say

    India 200/4 (50 Overs) and Ban 100/10 (20 0vers)….then NRR…INDIA +2.0 and Ban -2.0

But the spreadsheet is showing wrong…. it consediring only the overs….. but when they are allout then overs should be counted as 50…. what do you say??

if they bowled out before 50 overs, then you have to put 50 overs, they count as full innings

Another problem, it doesn’t take into account the side batting first. For example if you put 69 all out for Kenya and New Zealand scoring 70 off 8 overs, it thinks NZ won by 1 run and not 10 wickets

  • It’s working fine. There is an arrow sign (for innings) in the middle. You can adjust that arrow to indicate which team batted first.

If Kenya batted first and scored 69 all out and New Zealand batted second and scored 70 of 8 overs then the result is:- NZ won by 10 wickets. The excel sheet (schedule sheet) is showing correct result.

There is still a bug in the NRR calculations. According to all online sites the NRR for Kenya after their 2nd match was -4.897. Whereas this xls worksheet shows it as -11.72 ??? The rest of the features are good, but NRR doesn’t yet work. BTW, I am filling the exact number of overs each team has played, with considering if the where bowled out or not. The xls already has that information in the Wickets column.

Love the spreadsheet but it is shown no result for a tied game.

In the settings tab, change the time settings. For Australia, select GMT + 10:00 (and zero minutes). You will see the schedule according to Australian time.

Problem with Sri Lanka Australia game. How do you get them to have the shared points without it affecting the NRR calculation? As soon as you put in the runs/wickets/overs it changes the NRR but as the game was abandoned these figures shouldn’t be updated in the overall table.

However, I have reported Excely.com about the NRR issue in their Excel sheet. Hope, they will also fix this issue soon.
