The 2014 FIFA World Cup will be the 20th FIFA World Cup, the premier international football tournament. It is scheduled to take place between 12 June and 13 July 2014 in Brazil.

The 2012 UEFA European Football Championship, commonly referred to as Euro 2012, will be the 14th European Championship for national football teams organised by UEFA. It is scheduled to take place between 8 June and 1 July 2012 in Poland and Ukraine. It is the first time that either nation has hosted the tournament. There are 16 national teams competing for the title, as has been the format since 1996.

From the past records of World Cup Cricket, we find that the hosting team has never won the World Cup.
In 1996, the World Cup was hosted jointly by India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. The final match was played in Pakistan. And, Sri Lanka had won the World Cup.

The matches are played in One Day International (ODI) format. The World Cup is scheduled to take place between February and early April 2011.
